Executive Summary
The Goal of OrphanAct:
The goal of Orphan Act is to help orphans worldwide by presenting humanitarian aid projects to U.S. Rotary Clubs via the internet.
Unique features of OrphanAct:
This is a long-term, multi-district project. OrphanAct uses the power of the internet to display pictures of children and projects so that Rotary clubs may easily select a project to sponsor. For the first time, orphanages in the remote cities will be given exposure to U.S. Rotary clubs by having their own web pages on the OrphanAct website.
How OrphanAct works:
International Rotary clubs find in country projects at local orphanages. They take photos of the projects, the children, and the orphanage facilities. The photos and text are posted on the OrphanAct website. U.S. Rotary clubs access the website, see the photos and may then choose a project for their club to support. OrphanAct volunteers facilitate the processing of the project by communicating with the U.S. Rotary club and the International Partner Rotary club. Photos and receipts of the completed project are posted on the OrphanAct website. OrphanAct is an all-volunteer project.
Support for OrphanAct:
OrphanAct is sponsored by the Kihei-Wailea Rotary Club.
